MAGSIMULA KA AUDITIONS In November 2010, SAC will be staging the longest running musical that catapulted the musical career of Isay Alvarez and Robert Sena along with other artists like Tricia Amper -Jimenez, Gigi Posadas, Beverly Salviejo, Jograd dela Torre, Bobby Martino, Jon Briones etc., at the Little Theatre of Cultural Centre of the Philippines. MAGSIMULA KA! is a story about four friends who have just graduated from college. They were all excited to embark on their respective dreams! One wants to be a social worker (Monina), a singer (Mandy), writer (Mario) and composer (Miguel). Miguel who comes from a wealthy family really wanted to become a musician but his father wanted him to take over the management of their business. He joined a songwriting contest and his entry was MAGSIMULA KA! There are many heartwarming moments among friends and family of Miguel. Adding spice to the musical is the love story of the household helpers namely: Jograd and Monang, the best friend of Monina (Delia) who disappeared because of an accident, and a number of beautifully written songs of Gines Tan and arranged by Ryan Cayabyab. The story is very refreshing with all the positive moral values imparted in the musical which are lacking in today’s entertainment scene. The characters in the musical are: · Miguel 18-25 yrs old / composer / tenor · Monina 18-25yrs old / social worker /dancer / soprano 2 · Mandy 18-25yrs old / singer / tenor · Mario 18-25yrs old / writer / baritone · Mother 40’s up / soprano · Father 40’s up / tenor · Delia 18-25yrs old / crippled friend /alto/soprano · Millie 13-16yrs old / sister /dancer · Chorus actor / singer / dancer / willing to do multiple roles Please prepare one Filipino song preferably from a Filipino musical Auditions will be held at Spotlight Artists Centre, Dona Consolacion Bldg. 122 Jupiter St. Mkt.
